Meet Robert
I’m Robert Pendergast, a chef based in Prince Edward Island.
I grew up in a home where food, music, and storytelling were part of daily life. That sense of gathering still shapes everything I do.
My work is rooted in Island food culture, with strong Maritime and Acadian influences, and decades of cooking across Canada and Europe.
Today, I focus on oysters, food experiences, and events that are personal and connected.
Signature Experiences
Oysters
Oysters are the heart of my work and have taken me around the world. I’ve cooked and shucked oysters in some of the world’s well known oyster bars.
I offer oyster shucking for weddings, receptions, and private events. I source and serve fresh PEI oysters for you and your guests. My in depth knowledge of PEI oysters and my homemade hot sauces and mignonettes make it a unique experience.
Food Experiences & Workshops
I also create hands-on food experiences that bring people together.
These can include cooking workshops, preparing Island seafood, sourdough bread-making, or Maritime or Acadian inspired food events.
These gatherings are relaxed, interactive, and built for connection. Food experiences and workshops are available in English or French.
Private Events
I design food experiences for private meals, celebrations, and small gatherings.
Each one is shaped around the people, the space, and the moment. The goal is always the same: good food, shared well.
Food with place and purpose
I work closely with local fishers, farmers, and small producers across Prince Edward Island.
For me, food is about more than what is served. It is about where it comes from, and the people who make it possible.
